Note to Parents:
For those of you who have taken our Survey - Thank You so much!  We have learned much and
are in the process of making changes to accommodate those responses.

We've had many 'Pats on the Back' with what we are doing along with many nice things
reported about our staff.  Those comments are also very much appreciated and I assure you
are passed along to employees!

We are in the process of building a Yahoo Group that our parents will have access to which will
provide your child's daily schedule and a calendar of events.  We hope to have the group
finished by the end of the month.  We will also have a forum in which to talk with other parents
about a bunch of difference issues.  We will provide links to certain areas that have either
information / toys / or any other area of interest we think you might enjoy.  We appreciate your
patience as we expand our services.

To give parents a little background of what we have been able to accomplish - here is a short
summary by year:

2005 - My husband and I spent the first year "cleaning up".  Every weekend for 10 months, one
room at a time, we stripped everything in the room - disinfected, threw away broken toys,
shampooed carpets, painted, refurbished and restocked.  This included the purchase of over a
thousand dollars worth of new toys, a new stove for the kitchen, a new washer and dryer, and a
new refrigerator.

2006 - We revamped our curriculum to use the most up-to-date techniques, taking about 3
months to compile themes, worksheet varieties, and other resources.  Classes and training to
become a participant of the USDA Food Program.  The purchased of 4 new major pieces of
equipment for the playground outside,  We also built the Infant Center, located at 1412 S
Arkansas, to provide more individualized and specialized care for our babies.

2007 - Completed training and applied for the ABC Grant successfully, repainted 3 rooms,
ripping up 15 year old carpet, scraping glue off the floor and painting the floor.  We're especially
proud of this because we are able to sanitize the floor more thoroughly, which will significantly
retard the spread of germs.  We've replaced the carpet with Throw Rugs that can either be
washed or thrown away.  We also put in 6 inches of pea gravel throughout the outside play
area.  This is much cleaner and provides a much safer fall area than what was originally in
place.

We are excited about the progress we've been able to make in such a short time and look
forward to continue rolling out our future plans.  If you have any ideas you would like to see,
please use the contact form to let us know!
